Taxicab yellow doors lead to the master bedroom addition in this home. The homeowners found the doors when they were being discarded from a church in Boston. They hauled them across town, then moved them from city to city over the years waiting for the perfect place to use them. The chairs surrounding the conference-table-turned-dining-table are circa 1930 caned bentwood cafe chairs.

A lone yellow wall provides the perfect backdrop for one floral chair to stand out against a sea of brown, and a series of unique shelves, one set built-in, the other wall-mounted, enliven the walls of this intimate, dimly lit dining room.

From the '50s-era yellow thrift-store table to the butter-hued chairs, this southwestern-themed dining room makes for a sunny spot to eat and mingle.

Every color of the rainbow is at home in this multipurpose dining room via cheery yellow trim, an attention-grabbing green chandelier, blue hydrangeas and red details on the window valance.
