Recipe: No-Bake Halloween Mice Cookies

by fh_linda on OCTOBER 27, 2011

Hi all, Linda Facci here with a fun Halloween no-bake recipe for your kids or your upcoming Halloween party: Halloween mice cookies. Aren’t they cute?

Recipe: Halloween Mice Cookies

They are so quick to make (just 1 hour to cool) and best of, they don’t require an oven! Here’s how to make these little guys:

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 40 chocolate crumbled wafers
  • 1/3 non-fat cup sour cream
  • 36 red nonpareils
  • 36 pumpkin seeds
  • 18 pieces black shoestring licorice (2 inches each)

Directions

In a microwave, melt chocolate chips; stir until smooth. Stir in 20 of the crumbled wafers and sour cream. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or until easy to handle.

For each mouse, roll about 1 tablespoon chocolate mixture into a ball. Place remaining crumbs and balls in a ziploc bag and toss lightly to coat. Remove and taper one end to resemble a mouse.

Position pumpkin seeds for ears, nonpareils for eyes, and licorice pieces for tails.

Tips: if you can’t find shoestring licorice, try “un-twirling” the round kind! Also, if you find the nonpareils are difficult to handle, cut small pieces of red licorice for the eyes instead.

What’s your favorite Halloween treat?
