tips to transition into fall

by fh_heather_r on AUGUST 17, 2011

Summertime and the living is easy–until August, that is. August is the cruel reminder that all good summers come to an end. Whether it means starting school or preparing for Fall, every household undergoes major changes.

To make this transition as easy, breezy and as stress-free as possible, check out my helpful tips:

1) Invest in an oversized calendar. Put this in a central location, like the kitchen, to help organize changing schedules. Or, for a floor-to-ceiling message board, apply chalk-board paint to a central wall. This is not only functional, but fun!

2) Create a school-supplies station. Convert an unused junk drawer in your laundry room or office into an easy-access school-supply station. This will eliminate frantic morning searches for scissors, glue and pens.

3) Create a summer photo album. This is a great way to remember fond summer memories when the season starts to change. For the crafty, check out these 6 Fun Photo Projects. Don’t have time to craft your own photo album? Let SnapFish do it for you!

Great tips! Excited for give up the humidity for cool weather. Trying to bring some natural color into the house and put away some brights. Loving the chalk-board paint right now and started organizing jars with chalk labels.

Good idea Brittany! As the temperature drops, re-introduce cozy earth tones back in the home. I can't wait to dig up my favorite espresso-colored faux-fur throw.
