This stellar reader re-do comes from my friend in Brooklyn, Brittany. Over sushi one night, she told me the story of her table makeover, and since we all know I have a furniture re-hab obsession, I was pretty excited to see the results. So, here we go!
Brittany started with an old green, dusty table that used to hold the TV. When she and her roommates sprung for a flat-screen, they were left with the table:
Brittany found her makeover inspiration at a local paper store, where she found this world map print and thought it would be a great, graphic table-topper:
A coat (or two) of glossy black spray paint later, the table looked shiny and new (ahem, Brittany warns to never, ever spray paint indoors, by the way …):
After the table completely dried, Brittany set to work on Modge Podge-ing the world map paper on top:
When that was done, she added black stripes to tie into the black legs. She masked off the top with painter’s tape and added these stripes with a Sharpie:
And voila! Done:
What a great project that only cost her the price of black spray paint, a world map, a Sharpie, Modge Podge and painter’s tape. Great job, Brit!

Cool, Brittany! Love that you used a sharpie for the lines...finished product looks great.

Thanks, Robyn! The Sharpie was definitely a creative inspiration...or something like that.

I love it! It's made for me (my name is Brittany). I'm going to do this to the side table in my living room!
