Step 1: Prepare the Wallpaper

Prime the MDF panels with a liquid bonding agent, then cut the paper to 72-in. lengths. If pre-pasted, soak it in water according to the instructions. If unpasted, apply paste from the center outwards. Position the paper on the panels, smoothing with a plastic straightedge.

Step 2: Trim and Secure the Edges

Turn the panels face down and use a utility knife to trim the paper with edges of 3/4-in., removing a 3/4-in. square from each corner. Apply paste along the edge of the panels, fold the wallpaper and smooth down.

Step 3: Attach the Squares

Use a try square to mark the center of the panels 4-in. from the top then use a 3/4-in. Forstner bit to drill a 3/8-in. deep hanging recess.

TIP

For extra strength secure keyhole plates over the hanging recesses.

Mount the Panels

Mark the hanging points 72-in. from the floor, 16-in. apart to secure #8 x 2 1/2-in. screws into wall studs. Alternatively, use plasterboard anchors with #8 x 2-in. screws. For a masonry wall use a masonry bit to drill holes for wall plugs, securing with #8 x 2-in. screws.
