Step 1: Cut the Parts

Use a circular saw or jigsaw to cut 1x4s to size. We cut two pieces 14 in. long for the front and back, and four pieces 4 in. long to create the ends and partitions.

Step 2: Build the Box

Assemble the outer frame of the box, using glue and dowels (or finish nails.) Glue and nail the inner partitions in place, spaced at equal intervals.

Step 3: Paint and Add Handles

Glue and nail on the 1/4-in. plywood base. Lightly sand the box, then apply one coat of primer and two coats of high gloss paint. Add rope handles for a decorative touch.
