Step 1: Build the Mini-Shelf

Create the small L-shaped shelf by securing an 18-in. 1x2 and 1x4 to one another, using wood glue and 4d finish nails. Use an awl to mark the center position of each jar lid.

Step 2: Pre-Punch the Lids

Punch one hole in the center of each lid, and another about 1/2-in. away. Set the lids on the L-shaped shelf and install the center screw.

Step 3: Attach the Shelf

Add the second screw to prevent the jar lids from rotating, then use 2 1/4-in. drywall screws to secure the shelf to the wall studs. Screw the jars onto the lids
