Step 1: Prepare the Doors

Clamp the doors on a drill press then use a 35mm Forstner bit to bore two 35mm x 13/32-in.-deep holes. Use 80-grit sandpaper to roughen the faces for a good bond then secure the mirrors with adhesive. Use non-acidic construction adhesive to secure the mirror to the doors so the silver on the back doesn't erode. Finish with a bead of silicone around the edges. Paint the outside of the cabinet with gloss enamel in a bright color for a clean, fresh finish.

Step 2: Mark Up the Top and Base

Use an MDF offcut to mark lines 3/4-in. wide at the ends and 16-in. from the ends for the dividers. Mark the center lines then use a drill and a 1/8-in. combination countersink bit to drill two countersunk pilot holes 1-in. from the edges.

Step 3: Assemble the Cabinet

Position the sides and dividers against the top and base, securing with wood glue and screws. Fill the holes with wood filler then smooth with 120-grit sandpaper. Drill pilot holes every 10-in. around the edges to secure the back with screws.

Step 4: Fit the Hinges to the Doors

Secure the hinges in the 35mm holes in the doors then hang, checking offset hinges are fitted to the middle door so it swings out.

TIP

Overhang the doors 1-in. below the base of the cabinet as a finger grip for opening and closing.

Step 5: Attach to the Wall

Find the wall studs and drill pilot holes into the back of the cabinet to align with the studs and secure with 10 x 3-in. screws. For masonry walls, use fixing plates, wall anchors or plugs.
