What You Need

Check off the tools and materials you need to make this project.

  • Drill
  • Two 5/8-in. x 20-in. x 30-in. pieces MDF for top and bottom
  • Two 5/8-in. x 13-in. x 30-in. pieces MDF for sides
  • Two 5/8-in. x 13-in. x 18 3/4-in. pieces MDF for sides
  • 1 5/8-in. MDF screws
  • MDF glue
  • 20-in. x 30-in. piece of 2-in. foam for top
  • Spray adhesive
  • 26-in. x 36-in. piece of batting for top
  • 17-in. x 100-in. piece of batting for sides
  • Staple gun
  • 5/16-in. staples
  • Approximately 1 5/8 yards of 60-in.-wide fabric, cut into a 26-in. x 36-in. piece for top and a 17-in. x 100-in. piece for sides
  • Sewing machine with large upholstery needle
  • Eight buttons, 5/8-in. or larger, and cord (for attaching)
  • Four wood furniture feet with mounting brackets
  • 28-in. piano hinge, short strips of hook-and-loop material, or four wooden cleats
  • Fringe for trim and hot glue gun (optional)
