Finishing Touches
Cut the parts to size, then mark the positions of the vertical sides and dividers on the top and bottom pieces as shown in the illustration. Drill holes at about 3-in. intervals for installing the screws.
Mark the position of the center shelf on the two dividers, then use glue and 1 5/8-in. screws to secure the H-shaped piece together. Make sure the pieces are square to one another.
Position the top on the H-shaped center section, secure it in place, then add the sides. Carefully flip the unit over and install the long bottom panel. Check to make sure the unit is square, then secure the two back pieces using 1-in. brads.
Position the front, back and side supports about 1 1/2-in. from the edges and screw them in place using glue and 2-in. drywall screws. Add the four casters at the corners.
Secure the hinges to the doors about 2 in. from the top and bottom. Attach the doors to the cabinet.
Carefully place the backing against the frame behind one of the cabinet areas; the top of the backing should be about 1/4-in. below the unit's top. Hammer into place, using the 1-in. brads, one every 3 in. or so. Repeat behind the other cabinet area.
You can paint it any color you wish; high gloss enamel is the easiest to maintain. Adding extra storage space is as easy as cutting and installing extra shelves.
