Decals are plastic or paper designs that can be easily transferred onto most clean surfaces. They're repositional and can be peeled off without damaging the painted surface to be used again.
Intro
Step 1: Prepare the Stairs
Step 2: Cut the Design to Fit
Step 3: Attach the Decal
Project by Gema Beneitez
Smooth the staircase with 120-grit abrasive paper using a random orbital sander to smooth over the old paint. Then apply two coats of water-based, high-gloss paint.
Use sharp scissors to cut the decal to fit the risers, removing leaves to make it fit neatly.
Position the decal on a flat surface with the design face down to peel off the paper backing to reveal the sticky side. Press it firmly onto the stairs then peel off the clear protective layer on the front.
