Rachel DeSchepper, Online Editor: I'm a twentysomething living in a Brooklyn apartment four times as old as I am, with tin ceilings and creaky wood floors. As the online editor of Fresh Home, I've always got a project up my sleeve: rehabbing a dresser I found on Craigslist for less than $20, for instance, or painting (and repainting) my room until I've found the winner out of 80 different shades of blue-gray. I love city life, but dream of wraparound porches, window seats and backyard gardens. Until then, I live vicariously through our magazine, website and blog.
Christian Millman, Editor in Chief: I can change a diaper, change the oil, change my mind, change the filter, change a dollar, change my address and change for the better (sometimes). I am still trying to change the world. As the editor in chief of Fresh Home, I get to do all those things for a living. What a great deal, huh? I live near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with my wife, three sons, a small dog and a large cat.
Howard Greenberg, Creative Director: Howard was most recently design director of Southern Living and was art director for Travel + Leisure, House Beautiful, Life and Elle Décor, and Cottage Living.
Howard holds a master of fine arts degree from Columbia University in creative writing, and a bachelor of fine arts from the School of Visual Arts. He's written extensively on Japanese pop culture for Japanese magazines, "Marquee," "World Walker," "Feature" and "Tokion." He relocated to the Milwaukee area with his partner, Stephen Campbell, and their two Wheaten terriers, Bertrand and Jean-Luc.
Heather Lamb, Executive Editor: Don't let the picture fool you. Without the help of a good photographer and a stylist, I am not nearly so pulled together. In real life, I strike an often-messy balance between my job as executive editor of Fresh Home and my home life with two rambunctious kids and one rambunctious husband. Together we live in a 1920s Milwaukee bungalow that is a constant work in progress. And as anyone who's ever lived in an old home can attest—sometimes we choose the projects, and sometimes they choose us.
Rachael Liska, Senior Editor: I like to think of myself as a can-do chick who knows how to swing a hammer, pull together a great outfit, throw a killer party, load up a paintbrush, and create a stylish, loved-in look for my "free-to-be-me" home. As senior editor of Fresh Home, I take sincere pleasure in playing a key role in its direction, look and voice. I've worked on the magazine since its launch in March 2009 and sometimes still can't believe they pay me to do this job! My three DIY mantras: Don’t be afraid to break the rules. Don’t be afraid to do it your way. Creativity conquers all!
Kerri Balliet, Production Manager: As a self-proclaimed design junkie, I've been known to paint a room at least three times to make sure the color is just right, lop three inches off of the legs from a coffee table and turn it into a night stand, rescue old metal office furniture from the scrap pile, and scour flea markets for unusual and vintage house wares. My latest obsession: cut glass tooth pick holders ... they make fabulous candle holders. I have had the pleasure of completely updating my exposed ranch since moving to Milwaukee six years ago. I share my house and my life with my two kids and three dogs.
Linda Facci: I’m Linda Facci, graphic designer, crafter and all-around tinkerer. I’m just a girl who likes to make things, so I’m happiest when I’m in the middle of a craft project. I love all things vintage, playing with papier mache, creating mosaics, and making jewelry. I began my design career in publishing specializing in promotional and marketing for magazines such as People, InStyle and Every Day with Rachael Ray. My work and I have been featured on HGTV and published in Life, Cottage Living, Art Jewelry and Fresh Home magazines.
Born and raised in New York, I’m the lucky wife of a wonderful man and mom to Lulu, our big fat cat. On most weekends you can find us upstate enjoying time at the country cottage we have lovingly renovated over the years.
Amanda Bowe: I'm a stay at home mom to two hyper boys and wife to a fantastic husband, Ben. Projects—whether sewing, painting, crafting, or working on renovating part of our 1960 rancher—help me keep my sanity. Over the last five years, Ben and I have been working hard to update our house, room by room. About a year and a half ago, we started blogging all about it at Our Humble A{Bowe}d, sharing large and small projects. Our hope is to chronicle our adventures and inspire others along the way.
Cara Corey: After several years as a reporter for newspapers and magazines, I quit my job in 2009 to make a go of it as a crafty entrepreneur. I discovered a true passion for knitting and crochet, and opened my shop full of oversized knits at marymarieknits.etsy.com. I love crafty projects of all kinds, and I try to be crafty in the kitchen, as well. I chronicle many of my DIY projects and recipes on my blog, caracorey.com. Originally from Kansas, I now live in the San Francisco bay area with my husband, Mike, and two crazy dogs. We're having a blast exploring the beaches, redwood forests, and iconic neighborhoods in our new California home.
Morgan Cullen: Hailing from Austin, Texas, but a seventh-generation Floridian, my true passion is anything creative. Be it designing, writing, photography, cooking or crafting, I'm always elbow deep in a project. I document these (mis)adventures over on my blog, CasaCullen. My current team includes my willing and always handy husband, Walt, and our teenie tiny 2 1/2 lb. yorkie, Zola Belle. We're expecting a new little one in November, so we're currently tackling nursery decor, and can't wait to see how life will change after our little man's arrival. CasaCullen has been mentioned on ABC News, Apartment Therapy, Bon Appetit and Ohdeedoh.
Jennifer Jones: I'm a proud mom of three sweet little dudes and wife to a pretty fantastic guy, Bryan. Upon leaving a demanding position at a large insurance company to stay home with my three little babes, I quickly realized I wanted to spend my days playing with them and organizing every nook and cranny of our abode. I started IHeart Organizing, a blog dedicated all things home, life, family and, of course, my passion for organizing on a budget. I also run a shop on Etsy, where I create personalized organizing printables and labels. I couldn't be more excited to be part of the Fresh Face family!
Tanya Watson: From painting a car to demolishing a bathroom, I’m not afraid to get dirty. My handy husband and I, both first-time homeowners and long-time do-it-yourself enthusiasts, are sprucing up our once neglected townhouse. Although I’m a Ph.D. candidate in women's studies, and have a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in philosophy, my childhood ambitions were to be an artist, writer or interior designer. So now I'm happy as a clam because I’ve been blogging about our home improvement and design experiences, plus a bevy of DIY art projects, on my blog, Dans le Townhouse, since 2010. My projects have been featured on fabulous blogs like Apartment Therapy and Design*Sponge, and I'm excited to share my ideas and sources of inspiration with Fresh Home blog readers.
