Step 1: Cut Birch Branch

Cut a 3/4-in.-thick slice from a 1-1/2-in.-diameter birch branch.

Step 2: Drill Hole

Drill a hole in the center with a 1/8-in. bit. Insert a juniper spring into the drilled hole.

Step 3: Make the Name Tag

With a 1-1/4-in.-high star paper punch, punch a star shape from a thin layer of birch bark or bark-patterned scrapbook paper. Use a black fine-line marker to write a guest's name on the star. Glue the star to top of the juniper sprig.
