Step 1: Pick Duct Tape Pattern

Designer duct tape is available in patterns from wicker (shown) to plaids and polka dots (Platypus Designer Duct Tape, fortisdesign.com).

Step 2: Apply Duct Tape

Place the mirror horizontally on a flat surface. Work from bottom to top, placing tape strips across the mirror. Wrap edges around back of frame and use an artist's knife to cut out the center section to expose the mirror beneath. (We used two rolls of tape to refashion this 28- by 34-inch mirror.)
