Step 1: Cut the Plywood

Measure the height of the drawer and cut plywood strips 1/2-in. narrower than this dimension. Determine the desired width and length of your divider unit based on the size of your drawer, and cut the plywood strips to length.

Step 2: Cut the Slots

Determine the best size for your "cubbies," then mark the plywood where the pieces will intersect. Use a jigsaw to cut 1/4-in.-wide slots to half the depth of the dividers.

Step 3: Interlock the Pieces

Interlock the pieces, then use glue and 1/2-in. brads to secure the outer framework of the dividers. Let glue dry for 1 hour, then set the unit in the drawer. Load it up.
